Cold Stone what?

We stop at a grocery store every Sunday. Last week, I stumbled upon a vanilla ice cream mix---which you boil and then let set up in the freezer. I wasn't so sure about the method but figured I would give it a shot. We had food christmas the morning after the nurses left (food christmas: when the leaving group often gives us their left over food or candy so they can have more room in their bags for their souvenirs) and got some good stuff--like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Hershey's Nuggets with almonds and toffee, etc. Obviously, the only logical thing to do with our newly inherited goodies was to have an ice cream party. We added some of Claartje's Holland cookies (they are to die for--honestly), scrounged up chocolate syrup from the fridge (we have no idea how long it has been there but it still lasted good so whatever) and de-seeded a few pomegranates--and wallah: we created a humble cold stone creamery on our tiled floor. But lets be clear--we didn't actually mix anything on the tile floor because that would be way to gross and make a ginormous mess. The ice cream melted faster then we expected (we should of thought through that a little more because right now is India's hot season and this is the hottest hot season they have had in seven years) but it still tasted fabulous. I'm not sure the boil and then freeze ice cream was my favorite--but the flavor added to its melting did kind of taste like that marshmallow filling stuff that I can't remember the name of. Either way we deemed it a success.

Getting a group photo wasn't exactly successful for us at first. For some reason it was REALLY hard to manage-which made it all the more memorable. I couldn't of hand picked a better group of people to work with--I really lucked out on getting such an amazing team. I love them all. A lot.
